Purpose: To Explore Opportunities with AISES' Partner Agencies
The AISES Internship Program is a 10-week summer program that provides qualified AISES students with internship opportunities to explore potential federal service careers with the following agencies. Interns are provided a weekly stipend and local transportation allowance.
Please note that summer internships with the CIA are 12 weeks.

The internship is a student learning work experience to gain knowledge and understanding of federal and corporate organizations and their operations. An internship should not be viewed as summer employment with an expectation of earnings.
Eligibility Requirements
In order to be eligible for this program, applicants must:
- Maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale).
GPA requirement for Bonneville Power internship is 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale).
- Be enrolled and pursuing a degree in a college or university on a full-time basis.
- Be a college or university sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student at the time the internship begins.
- Be a current AISES member
- Be a U.S. citizen. In some cases, partnering agencies will also accept permanent U.S. residents.
Interns should not undertake this commitment if their personal or financial obligations prevent them from being able to participate for ten consecutive weeks or creates an undue hardship.
Provisions
Interns are provided with the following (non-negotiable):
- Round-trip airfare or mileage to internship site
- Weekly stipend
- Dormitory lodging
- Local transportation allowance
Please note that lodging is for the intern only. Family and friends cannot be accommodated, as each intern will be assigned another intern as a roommate.
Internship Terms & Conditions
To be eligible for the AISES Internship program, interns must:
- Complete the entire ten weeks (twelve weeks for CIA) of full-time work in the assigned office.
- Work exclusively for the agency assigned.
- Provide a comprehensive assessment of the program upon its completion.
- Agree to and abide by the policies set forth by AISES.
- Agree to and abide by the AISES Code of Conduct.
Application Procedure
Applications must include:
- Completed 2009 AISES Internship Application Form.
- Completed Essay.
- 2 letters of recommendation.
- Most recent official college transcript(s).
- Current resume must be uploaded to AISES resume database.
Application Deadlines:
September 15, 2008: CIA
February 15, 2009: All other agencies

Students that meet the criteria above are strongly encouraged to apply for an AISES Internship for Summer 2009. AISES Internships are educational, fun and rewarding.
