USDA National Needs Graduate Fellowships
As a consortium of public wheat breeders from seven universities across the country, we are offering Fellowships for students to complete M.S. degrees in plant breeding with emphases on variety development and application of genomics and bioinformatics. The seven students will join a national team of public wheat breeders dedicated to the genetic improvement of wheat. In addition to training at their home universities, students will participate as a team for advanced training in crop genomics and bioinformatics.

Position:  Engineering-Product Development Internship

The Chrysler Team is writing a new chapter in our company’s proud history and looking for you to be a part of our future.  There is a special spirit at the New Chrysler – do you have it in you?

We’re looking for qualified candidates to fill Engineering-Product Development Internship positions at Chrysler.

Selected candidates are assigned to a department within the Engineering Product Development Organization based on the candidate’s technical background and interests.  The assignment is project-oriented, meaningful to the department, allows the intern to take responsibility for a major task, and allows the intern to experience a sense of personal accomplishment and contribution.

The timeframe for internships are usually from May through August.  Those interns meeting eligibility requirements may be considered for the Chrysler Institute of Engineering (CIE) Program upon graduation.

• Basic Qualifications:
  -Attained sophomore standing with at least one summer remaining prior to graduation
  -Major in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited)
  -Equivalent of 3.00/4.00 GPA or higher
  -Williing to relocate to Michigan
  -Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US

2008-2009 IBM Ph.D. Fellowship Program

IBM is pleased to announce the IBM University Relations Ph.D. Fellowship Program for the 2008-2009 academic year.  IBM University Relations Ph.D. Fellowship nominations may be made by faculty members from September 17 to October 26, 2007.

The IBM Ph.D. Fellowship program honors exceptional Ph.D. students in many academic disciplines and areas of study, for example: computer science and engineering, electrical and mechanical engineering , physical sciences (including  chemistry, material science, and physics), mathematical sciences (including optimization),  business sciences (including financial services, communication, and learning/knowledge ), and service sciences, management, and engineering.  Additionally, IBM has special attention to an array of focus areas of interest to IBM and fundamental to innovation.

IBM University Relations Ph.D. Fellowships are awarded worldwide.  IBM Ph.D. Fellows are awarded tuition, fees, and a stipend for the nine month academic year 2008-2009. All IBM Ph.D. Fellows are matched with an IBM Mentor according to their technical interests, and they are encouraged to participate in a summer internship. Interns are awarded an IBM ThinkPad gift during the internship. While students may accept other supplemental fellowships, to be eligible for the IBM Ph.D. Fellowship they may not accept a major fellowship in addition to the IBM Ph.D. Fellowship.

L’ORÉAL USA ANNOUNCES CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR 2008
FELLOWSHIPS FOR WOMEN IN SCIENCE PROGRAM

NEW YORK, NY, August 20, 2007 – L’Oréal USA announced today the start of the application period for its esteemed L’Oréal USA Fellowships For Women in Science program. Now in its fifth year, this national program aims to annually recognize, reward and support five women postdoctoral researchers in the U.S. who are pursuing careers in the life and physical/material sciences, as well as mathematics, engineering and computer science. As part of its commitment to further help women scientists achieve their goals, L’Oréal USA awards each recipient $40,000 to apply toward their postdoctoral research.

Hydrology Graduate Fellowship Training Program
The NOAA/National Weather Service Office of Hydrologic Development (OHD) has established the Hydrology Graduate Fellowship Training Program in support of the OHD research activities. The program will be administered by the NOAA-CREST Center at the City College of New York.

The program will award two fellowships annually.  One fellowship is restricted to students pursuing graduate degrees at one of the NOAA/CREST campuses. The other fellowship is open to any student pursuing graduate degrees at any university in the US and its territories.  The fellowships will be one- to four- year appointments, renewable annually, depending on student performance and funding availability. Both US and non-US citizens may apply for the fellowships. Each fellowship amounts to $50,000. The fellowships are designed to provide support and guidance to select scientific graduate students with the goal of training a new generation of scientists to meet the workforce needs of NOAA and the nation.
